CJI today noted that DY Chandrachud that the top court will come up special Bench on Wednesdays and fridays to deal with tax cases
Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud today noted that "There will be a special bench from next week onwards on Wednesdays and Fridays to deal with direct and indirect sales tax matters solel,".
In the month of October previous year, the then CJI with the V Lakshmikumaran, founding partner of tax law firm Lakshmikumaran & Sridhara noticed that some special courts will be formed on special days specifically to certain type of case and to reduce the pendency of cases
At that present CJI was the senior most judge in high court after CJI noted that "That is an excellent suggestion. I will mention it to the Hon'ble CJI today"
Ex CJI Nuthalapati Venkata Ramana was the sitting CJI at that time.
In 2015 the apex court bench dealing with the tax case of Justices AK Sikri and Rohinton Nariman noted more that. eight hundred verdict after it got formed.
The then Bar council of the Supreme Court noted that it is a good initiation for speedy and qualitative justice in the society.
