Section 254 BNSS Newly added Newly added proviso to section 254 of BNSS provides that evidence of a witness may be recorded by audio - video electronic means. Newly added subsection (2) provides that the deposition of evidence of any police officer or public servant may be taken through audio - video electronic means.

Section 231 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 deals with evidence for prosecution. Under the new law this is Section 254 of the BNSS.
