Aarthi vs R.M. Rajeshkumar

Bench: 2 — Kurian

In Brief

This case concerns the proper forum for hearing two related Hindu Marriage Original Petitions filed in different courts—one pending before the Subordinate Judge in Karur and another before the Family Court in Coimbatore. Both parties agreed the cases should be tried together in the Family Court. The Supreme Court allowed the appeal and ordered the case from the Subordinate Judge's court be transferred to and consolidated with the Family Court petition. The Family Court was directed to dispose of both cases expeditiously within six months from the first appearance of the parties.
