In Brief
In this petition for special leave to appeal, the Supreme Court considered whether to interfere with the High Court's rejection of the petitioner's application seeking a stay of trial court proceedings. The Court held that interim orders rejecting stay applications are not ordinarily subject to interference under Article 136. Accordingly, the petition was dismissed. However, the Court recommended that the underlying criminal miscellaneous petition pending before the High Court be heard expeditiously.
