A land dispute case arising from a Title Suit was remitted to mediation at the Supreme Court's suggestion. Although the parties initially agreed in principle to settle the dispute at Rs. 2,500 per sq. ft., they disagreed on the exact location of the land. The Court directed the District Legal Services Authority to demarcate the actual land with the assistance of an Amin. Upon confirmation that the land measured 440.82 sq. ft., the Supreme Court disposed of the appeal as settled, directing the plaintiff to pay in three bi-monthly instalments and the competent authority to update records after full payment. The Court also facilitated the shifting of an underground water pipeline from respondents' to plaintiff's property."
