A motor accident compensation appeal concerning the calculation of lost income and damages following the death of a skilled driver. The Supreme Court revised the income assessment from Rs.4,200/- to Rs.4,360/- per month (the prescribed minimum wage for skilled workers in Haryana), applied a 50% uplift for future prospects, deducted one-quarter for personal expenses, and used a multiplier of 18 to arrive at Rs.10,59,480/- as compensation for loss of earnings. The Court affirmed the High Court's awards for loss of consortium and loss of love and affection, and added amounts for funeral and litigation expenses, totalling compensation of Rs.15,44,480/- payable with 9% annual interest."
