Three men (A-1, A-2, A-3) were convicted of murder by the Kerala High Court after the trial court had acquitted all six accused. The trial court found the prosecution's case full of inconsistencies: eye-witness accounts were contradictory, the FIR appeared to be a post-investigation document without supporting Daily Diary entries, alleged weapon recoveries violated statutory procedure, and medical evidence contradicted the alleged time of death. The Supreme Court held that the High Court impermissibly reversed the acquittal without following mandatory legal principles for such appeals. When two reasonable views are possible, the trial court's acquittal cannot be overturned. The Court found the trial court's judgment plausible and justified, free from perversity, and restored the acquittals.
