Biltu Bhattacharya was convicted by both lower courts for offences of murder (IPC Section 302), criminal conspiracy (IPC Section 120-B), and illegal arms possession (Army Act Section 27(3)). A three-judge bench reviewed the conviction and sentence, examined all material on record, and found no error apparent to warrant interference. Although delay in filing the review petition was condoned, the petition was dismissed as the grounds raised did not justify any judicial intervention in the existing conviction and sentence.
