Center for PIL filed interlocutory applications challenging aspects of a Motion Bench order dated 6 January 2017 aimed at securing the attendance of four accused persons residing in Malaysia who had failed to respond to summons. The Supreme Court clarified that alternative enforcement mechanisms beyond those initially suggested could be adopted to procure the attendance of non-responsive accused persons. The Court held that such accused parties cannot subsequently object to alternative orders or claim compensation for monetary losses resulting from these measures if they fail to respond or appear before the Court."
