Supreme Court of India 2017-12-13 dismissed

Commissioner of Income Tax vs Vasisth Chay Vyapar Ltd

Bench: 2 — Rohinton Fali Nariman

In Brief

The Supreme Court consolidated multiple tax-related civil appeals arising from High Court judgments. After reviewing the impugned orders, the Court found that the High Court had provided full and meaningful reasoning on the issues and agreed with its conclusions. Accordingly, all appeals were dismissed. However, in one case, the Court noted that the High Court had segregated it as factually different when the facts were actually similar to the other cases, and permitted a review petition to be filed before the High Court within four weeks.
