Dharamvir & Ors. Etc vs State of Haryana & Etc

Bench: 2 — Kurian

In Brief

The appellants challenged the land compensation fixed by authorities during acquisition of their land. The Supreme Court found the dispute was conclusively settled by its earlier judgment in Surinder v. State of Haryana, which established the land value at Rs. 90,000 per acre with all statutory benefits. Applying that precedent, the Court enhanced the compensation from Rs. 81,000 to Rs. 90,000 per acre and directed the state to compute and deposit the full amount within four months. The appeals were allowed without costs.
