In Brief
A teacher was wrongfully terminated from an educational society in 2007. After over a decade of litigation and mediation, he was reinstated in 2018. The Supreme Court held that while the employee would not receive back wages for the out-of-service period, he must be treated as continuously employed for purposes of calculating and fixing annual increments and pay from the 2007 termination date. Monetary benefits from this fixation would accrue only from the reinstatement date. The Court directed compliance within one month and required the employee to hand over his Ph.D. certificate for verification. The appeal was partly allowed."> </invoke>
