Mangilal Kajodia, a removed government employee, sought reinstatement under Article 32 of the Constitution. The Supreme Court held that he should be reinstated with specific directions: the Central Government must issue a reinstatement order specifying the terms, place of posting, and grant three weeks to join; a pay fixation order must follow within four weeks, treating the absence as dies non only for salary computation; arrears of salary during removal may be withheld; and previously accrued benefits from the date of initial recruitment remain undisturbed. The writ petition was disposed accordingly without costs.
