In Brief
Fr. Issac Mattammel Cor-Episcopa challenged St. Mary's Orthodox Syrian Church's violation of a prior judgment in a representative suit. The Supreme Court reaffirmed that decisions in representative suits under CPC Section 92 are binding on all members of the represented class and preclude further litigation on the same issue. The Court held that violations of such judgments must be treated seriously. It directed similar pending matters across courts to be decided consistently and ordered courts to report within three months on the number of related pending litigations to prevent multiplicity and ensure judicial coherence.
