In Brief
Gaddam Ramulu and his brother inherited agricultural land as protected tenants under the Andhra Pradesh (Telangana Area) Tenancy and Agricultural Lands Act, 1950. Instead of cultivating the land as required by the grant, they transferred it to several persons who used it for non-agricultural purposes, including construction. After a show cause notice, the Mandal Revenue Officer cancelled their tenancy rights. The Joint Collector dismissed their appeal, and the High Court dismissed their revision and review petitions. The Supreme Court upheld the cancellation, finding clear violation of statutory terms and conditions governing the protected tenancy.
