In Brief
The Court dismissed an appeal concerning Hindu succession and property rights. Ramanna died in 1907 survived by his widow Seethamma and daughter Venkamma. Seethamma, being a limited heir under Hindu law, could not acquire absolute rights. She sold property in 1913 to her brother Srinivas Rao, who later sold to the respondents. Jankamma, Venkamma's daughter, sold the same property in 1955 to the appellants, who sued for possession. The Court held that any reversioner's suit must be filed within 12 years of the widow's death (1938), making the deadline 1950. The suits filed in 1975-1986 were barred by limitation. The reversioners' rights had expired and could not be revived by Jankamma's 1955 sale.
