In Brief
The Supreme Court examined appeals against bail orders granted by the High Court of Allahabad to persons accused of human trafficking and forcing 41 minor girls into prostitution. The accused faced charges under Sections 370 and 373 of the IPC and Sections 3–9 of the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act, 1956. The Court held that the High Court erred in granting bail mechanically without considering the grave facts of the case. It set aside the bail orders and directed expedited trial with evidence recorded for at least ten days monthly, allowing accused persons future recourse if trial is delayed without their fault.
