This Suo Moto case addressed implementation of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012. The Court heard an Amicus Curiae who highlighted the need for strict adherence to POCSO provisions at all investigation and trial stages. The Court directed the Registrar to collect data on pending POCSO cases across all districts and the duration of their pendency to enable formulation of comprehensive guidelines.
