In Brief
Jigeesha Thakore sought special leave to appeal against an interim injunction that the Bombay City Civil Court had granted in a 2011 suit against Dilip Sumanlal Shah. The High Court had confirmed the injunction, which had remained in place for over five years. The Supreme Court dismissed the special leave petitions without interfering with the interim injunction. However, the Court directed the trial court to expeditiously dispose of the underlying suit. The Court granted the intervenor liberty to raise issues in future properly instituted proceedings and clarified it expressed no opinion on the merits of the matter.
