In Brief
The Supreme Court addressed challenges to recruitment of 7,114 Junior Linemen by Andhra Pradesh energy corporations. A High Court judgment had re-examined and set aside selections previously approved by another Division Bench, whose judgment had become final. The Court held that the second judgment erred in re-examining settled appointments and issuing directions to modify selections after services were regularized. Setting aside such appointments would cause irreparable loss and disrupt essential services. The appeals were allowed and the High Court judgment was set aside. Future recruitment must follow statutory procedures strictly.
