A man arrested multiple times through allegedly illegal arrest warrants in an illegal racket involving corrupt judicial officials sought to quash criminal proceedings against him. Having been a whistle-blower who exposed the corruption scheme, the Supreme Court held that he had the right to challenge the proceedings even though he had not specifically prayed for quashing in the original writ petition. The Court granted him liberty to file proceedings before the High Court for quashing and issued directions for the trial courts to first issue notices to the complainants/plaintiffs in the remaining civil and criminal cases, permitting disposal within six months only if the original complainants wished to pursue the matters.
