In Brief
A government servant (Shreepat Rao Kamde) challenged the dismissal of a revision petition relating to retiral dues before the District Forum under the Consumer Protection Act, 1986. The Supreme Court held that while the law regarding maintainability of such claims by government servants under the Act is well settled, given that the respondent had initiated litigation in 2011, the Court directed that the respondent be entitled to withdraw deposited sums without furnishing security, disposing of the appeal.
