The Supreme Court upheld the dismissal of Lakshmi Chandra's application seeking recall of an order denying his claim for employment regularization. Chandra claimed to have worked as a daily-wage laborer in the Social Forestry Division from 1994 to 2000 and sought formal regularization. The appellants (the department) argued that no documentary evidence existed proving such work, no records showed employment from December 2003 onwards, and that Chandra had already received minimum pay-scale compensation. The Court held that without credible evidence of work performance during the claimed periods, regularization could not be granted, and that once an employee reached superannuation with minimum wages paid, the dispute did not survive.
