Pandurang Sitaram Jadhav etc. etc vs State of Maharashtra through its Dairy Manager & Anr

Bench: 2 — <UNKNOWN>, <UNKNOWN>

In Brief

Eleven daily wage workers of the Regional Dairy sought permanent employment status and regularization. The High Court had dismissed their writ petitions, and the Supreme Court had initially refused to entertain their special leave petitions. However, the Court reconsidered the case in light of subsequent legal developments. The Court held that these workers are entitled to regularization; delay in preferring their claim does not bar this right, though benefits accrue from the date complaints were filed. The Court directed regularization within three months and payment of entitled benefits within the same period, with the earlier service period counted for benefit calculations.
