In Brief
Three appellants sought bail after their applications were rejected by the High Court while their criminal appeals remained pending since 2007. The appellants had been in custody since 2005. The Supreme Court allowed the appeals and directed their release on bail during the pendency of High Court proceedings, subject to strict conditions by the trial court and subject to no detention being required in other cases. A co-accused from the same FIR had already been released on bail by a coordinate bench, supporting the decision.
