In Brief
Two petitioners filed a special leave petition challenging a High Court order in a criminal matter. The petitioners had been in detention for approximately sixteen years, including remission periods, and had demonstrated good conduct while working as convict officers in prison administration. The Supreme Court, considering the lengthy detention period and exemplary conduct, enlarged them on bail on terms and conditions to be determined by the trial court. The case was adjourned for further reports from the High Court.
