In this Suo Motu contempt petition originating from complaints filed by the Presidents of the Bombay Bar Association and the Bombay Incorporated Law Society against certain officials, the Supreme Court appointed a Senior Advocate (Shri Sidharth Luthra) as Amicus Curiae to assist in the investigation and disposal. The Amicus was permitted to engage a junior advocate. The Registry was directed to provide the Amicus and respondents with complete copies of the paper book and annexures. Respondents were granted three weeks to file fresh replies, and the matter was listed for 04.11.2019.
