A writ petition under Article 32 of the Constitution sought immediate implementation of the One Nation One Ration Card Scheme to support migrant workers during the Covid-19 pandemic (the scheme was scheduled to begin in June 2020). The Supreme Court, rather than mandating implementation, directed the Union of India to consider the feasibility of implementing the scheme at that time and to decide appropriately given the prevailing pandemic circumstances. The petition was disposed of accordingly.
