In Brief
Three men were convicted and sentenced for the murder of Ravindra, allegedly killed due to suspicion of an illicit relationship with one of the accused's wife. The Supreme Court found that while an eye-witness identified the main accused (not before the Court) as striking the fatal blow, there was no clear evidence that the three appellants shared a common intention to cause death. Being present at the scene without participating in the criminal act does not establish guilt. The Court set aside their convictions, acquitted them, and ordered their release, finding their involvement free from doubt and entitled to the benefit of doubt."
