A man was arrested in Rajasthan for illegally possessing 73.510 liters of liquor in violation of the Rajasthan Excise Act. His applications for bail were rejected by both the trial court and the High Court. The Supreme Court found that after spending more than three months in jail, it was just and proper to grant bail. The Court allowed the appeal and released him on personal bond of ₹10,000 with one surety of the same amount, subject to conditions imposed by the trial judge to ensure his attendance at trial."
