Securities & Exchange Board of India vs DSQ Software Ltd. & Anr

Bench: 2 — Anil R. Dave

In Brief

The Securities & Exchange Board of India appealed against a Securities Appellate Tribunal order that had imposed a conditional requirement on DSQ Software Ltd. to deposit Rs. 30 Crores within six months, failing which an original SEBI order from 2004 would revive. Since the respondent admittedly failed to make the deposit within the stipulated period, the Supreme Court set aside the Tribunal's order and revived the original SEBI order dated 9th September 2004, effectively dismissing the respondent's conditional relief.
