In Brief
The appellants challenged the cancellation of their booth allotment on the grounds that they had violated the allotment conditions. The Supreme Court held that cancellation cannot proceed without affording the allottee a fair opportunity to demonstrate that the booth will be personally run by them and not sub-let. The Court directed the appellants to file a fresh representation with such an undertaking, to be considered by the Administrator after a hearing. Pending the Administrator's decision, the status quo of possession was maintained.
