Shivangouda Ninganagouda Keri Since deceased by His Lrs vs Special Land Acquisition Officer, UKP, Bilagi District Bagalkot

Bench: 2 — Kurian

In Brief

The appellants sought land value of Rs. 6.5 Lakhs per acre and statutory interest in a land acquisition matter. The Supreme Court held that as similarly situated persons to those in a connected case (Ravindra), they were entitled to have the land value refixed at Rs. 6.5 Lakhs per acre. However, the Court denied them any statutory interest for the period of delay in the proceedings, either before the High Court or Supreme Court. The appeals were partly allowed.
