In Brief
This case concerns the Assam-Nagaland boundary dispute. During examination of a Survey of India witness, Assam sought production of additional topographical maps held at the Survey of India's Dehradun headquarters. Nagaland objected, citing an earlier court order limiting document production. The Supreme Court allowed production of the maps under Order XI Rule 14 of the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908, holding that documents not previously in the applicant's possession could be produced in the interest of justice at the witness examination stage. The Court clarified that admissibility and relevance of the documents remained open to challenge by Nagaland."> </invoke>
