Supreme Court of India 2018-02-16 dismissed

State of Tamil Nadu represented by the Secretary to Government Public Works Department vs Siddaramaiah, Chief Minister, Government of Karnataka & Ors

Bench: 3 — Dipak Misra

In Brief

The State of Tamil Nadu filed a contempt petition against the Chief Minister of Karnataka and others, arising out of Civil Appeal No. 2456 of 2007. After the Supreme Court disposed of the underlying civil appeal, it declined to proceed further with the contempt petition. The Court held that given the final disposal of the civil appeal, there was no need to continue with the contempt proceeding, and accordingly closed the petition.
