The Supreme Court reversed the High Court's order quashing criminal proceedings against an accused in a bank fraud case. The High Court had quashed the proceedings on the ground that other alleged accomplices were not named in the charge-sheet. The Supreme Court held that the absence of co-accused from the charge-sheet cannot be grounds to quash proceedings against a properly charge-sheeted accused. The Court noted that if needed, additional accused can be joined during trial under Section 319 Cr.P.C. The appeal was allowed and the accused was directed to face trial.
