In Brief
In this special leave petition, the Supreme Court was asked to review a High Court judgment in a criminal revision case involving the applicability of the Punjab Disturbed Areas Act, 1983. The Court found no reason to interfere with the High Court's decision and dismissed the petition. However, the Court clarified that observations made regarding Sections 4, 5, and 6 of the Act and regarding sanction procedures would not be binding in subsequent proceedings.
