In Brief
The Supreme Court dismissed an appeal challenging the NGT's order that dismissed an execution application regarding alleged wetland destruction at Veli-Akkulam in Kerala. The NGT had directed the District Collector to investigate; the Collector subsequently found the land was not a wetland and held proper reclamation exemptions existed. The Court held that once the Collector complied with the NGT's direction, the execution application became infructuous. The appellant may challenge the Collector's order separately within eight weeks without dismissal on grounds of delay.
