The Supreme Court heard an appeal concerning whether a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) employee deployed to the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) was entitled to deputation allowance. The Court held that since the CISF retained administrative, disciplinary, and financial control over the employee while continuing to pay their salary, the employee was not on deputation to the NDRF. The Court also quashed the Madras High Court's order as it exceeded the High Court's territorial jurisdiction by purporting to bind other High Courts in different States on the same issue.
