Krishna Murthy and another) seeking to appeal against a Trial Court decree that granted relief for cancellation of an agreement to sell relating to ancestral property. The appellants held interests derived from sale deeds executed under General Power of Attorney. The Court held that only an 'aggrieved person'—one prejudicially affected by a decree or whose legal rights are jeopardized—can appeal. Since the appellants were not parties to the suit and their rights arose from a different transaction unrelated to the agreement to sell at issue, they failed to demonstrate standing. The High Court was correct to reject their leave-to-appeal application.
