Vanka Neeraja vs Veerina Sai @ Sairam

Bench: 2 — Anil R. Dave

In Brief

In this civil appeal, the Supreme Court examined whether a matrimonial case pending before a Senior Civil Judge should be transferred to the Family Court. The appellants sought transfer of their matrimonial dispute from the Court of Senior Civil Judge, Narasapuram, to the Family Court, Hyderabad. The Court held that matrimonial cases must be transferred to Family Courts, which have specialised jurisdiction over such matters. Accordingly, the Supreme Court allowed the appeal and directed the transfer of the case to the appropriate Family Court forum.
