In a recent development concerning the stray dog’s case, the Supreme Court (SC) of India, today (November 03, 2025), opined that it will issue directions related to the feeding of stray dogs in government premises, “We will issue order in a few days regarding government institutions, where employees are supporting and encouraging dogs in that area.” The top court bench, consisting of Justice Vikram Nath, Justice NV Anjaria, and Justice Sandeep Mehta, was hearing the matter. During the proceedings, Senior Advocate Karuna Nundy, who appeared for the intervenor, requested the three-judge bench that the parties should be heard before dictating any directions to which Justice Nath replied, “With regard to government institutions, we will not hear.” Moreover, the SC also impleaded the Animal Welfare Board of India as a respondent in the stray dog menace case and listed the matter for hearing on November 07, 2025.
