The Pinnacle Court today rejected a plea requesting notice to rename the Bombay High Court to Maharashtra High Court.

Bench comprising justices Aniruddha Bose and Vikram Nath didn’t allow the plea requesting these are matters for lawmakers to take decisions.

The case was filed by VP Patil, who worked as a judge for twenty six years, requesting orders to the administrators to take proper steps for bringing a clause of the Maharashtra Adaptation of Laws (State and Concurrent Subjects) Order, 1960 for conservation and preservation of cultural aspects of state of Maharashtra.

It also noted that the administrators who are associated in other states must also be ordered to rename the names of their respective HC’s as per the name of the states where they are situated.
