Umar Khalid Approaches the Supreme Court Seeking Bail in the Delhi Riots Larger Conspiracy Case

Recently, Umar Khalid (former JNU scholar and activist) has challenged the September 02 decision of the Delhi High Court (HC) denying him bail in the Delhi riots larger conspiracy case and approached the Supreme Court seeking bail. By the HC’s order, the bail was also denied to the co-accused, including Mohd Saleem Khan, Athar Khan, Meeran Haider, Shadab Ahmed, Sharjeel Imam, Khalid Saifi, Shifa ur Rehman, and Gulfisha Fatima. Umar Khalid was booked under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and has been in custody for 5 years.
