A. Veerraju & Ors vs State of Andhra Pradesh & Ors

Bench: 2 — Kurian

In Brief

Public sector employees of Government Companies, Corporations and Societies in Andhra Pradesh, governed by the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act 2014, had superannuated at age 58 years. They challenged this, seeking continuance up to age 60 years. The State initially withheld approval. During the Court proceedings, the State issued a Government Order on 08.08.2017 permitting such continuance, effective retrospectively from 02.06.2014. The Court held that all employees superannuated at age 58 years from 02.06.2014 onwards are entitled to continuance benefits up to age 60 years and related entitlements. The appeals were disposed of accordingly.">
