Supreme Court of India 2018-02-05 dismissed

Ajayinder Sangwan and Ors vs K.K. Mohan

Bench: 2 — R.K. Agrawal

In Brief

The petitioners sought contempt proceedings against the Bar Council of India (BCI) for alleged willful disobedience of Supreme Court orders dated 14.12.2017, 23.08.2017 and 24.11.2017 regarding the conduct of State Bar Council elections. The Court examined an application filed by the BCI on 23.01.2018 wherein the BCI had finalized the election schedule for respective State Bar Councils. Finding the BCI's schedule to be just and proper, the Court held that no case for contempt proceedings had been made out and dismissed the petition accordingly.
