In Brief
Three consolidated civil appeals concerning a controversy related to a Syrian Orthodox Church were disposed of by the Supreme Court in February 2019. The Court held that the same legal issue had been finally decided in the prior case of K.S. Verghese v. St. Peter's & Paul's Syrian Orthodox & Others (2017), which precedent bound all parties. Since the controversy was settled by that earlier judgment, the Court found no further matter for adjudication and disposed of the present appeals accordingly, directing that no further multiplicity of litigation on the same issue be permitted in various courts."
