In Brief
The Delhi Development Authority appealed against a High Court order directing it to compute and disburse compensation under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013, for land acquired without payment to the original or subsequent owners. The Supreme Court dismissed the appeal, holding that no compensation having been paid, the High Court's direction was just and required no interference. The Authority was given six months to work out and disburse the compensation.
