In this appeal by the Delhi Development Authority, the Court addressed the status of land acquisition proceedings under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013. The Court dismissed the appeal, finding the issue covered by prior judgments. However, the Court granted the Authority one year to initiate fresh acquisition proceedings under Section 24(2) of the Act. If no fresh proceedings are initiated within that period, the Authority must return possession of the land to its original owner.
