Devender Singh vs State of Haryana & Ors

Bench: 3 — Kurian

In Brief

Devender Singh sought enhancement of land acquisition compensation for property acquired in 2003 under the Land Acquisition Act. The District Judge assessed market value at Rs.20,00,000 per acre, upheld by the High Court. The Supreme Court allowed the appeal and enhanced compensation by Rs.1,00,000 per acre (inclusive of all statutory benefits), following an earlier related judgment. However, statutory benefits were denied for the delay period in the legal proceedings before this Court and the High Court.
